Alb D.III 3206/17 no. 4//tricky markings..

Good Day,
On 01.12.1918 The Order of the Polish Army General Staff implemented the unified white-red checkerboard being applied on each machine in the state of new born Polish air forces. One can see the implementation process being held on many archive photos but the example of Albatros D.III 3206/17 no. 4 is quite bizzare. The picture done in early spring of 1919 represents D.III with red-white circles and black crosses during the test flight in CWL (Central Aircraft Factory) located at Mokotow district of Warsaw. Why checkerboard was not implemented after 6 months since the order? Kind of mistery.

Beautiful and an interesting history.
The mismatching cross on the aileron is a nice touch.

Those first couple of head-long and three quarter color shots look like full-size museum shots. Just amazing wood work and attention to detail! Those circles remind me of Danish markings too...

Beautifully done K. What scale is this model? (not that it matters, just beautiful)

I do like to see unusual aircraft or aircraft in unusual markings. This entirely fills the book on the latter criterion. As Dan has commented the woodwork effect is superb. A truly magnificent model.

Great subject - the famous "Danish" Albie in Polish service.
And a great model, too. Congratulations, Krzysiek.
