Thanks gentlemen,

Wings are ready....yay!
Final touches took me the whole day, but ready now.
166 decals plus about a dozen of small decal patches to fix a few mistakes.
I enjoyed doing this "hardcore lozenge"....hell of a job, but fun. I happily do it again. :)

I love the smell of Microsol in the morning. 8)
These Microsculpt decals respond fantastic to Sol.

The leading edge and wing tip tapes were not in the Eduard manual, but I had enough spares to make them.
Wasn't easy to put them on the edge...lots of Microsol to get them in place.

Some crazy small, but still readable decals.

With this out of the way...done the internal rigging...for what's worth.

Next...engine and close the fuselage.

Robin  :)

Thanks gentlemen. :)

Did the engine...

Since almost nothing will be visible in the end, I put very little effort in it.
Only added the spark plug cable tubes...and those won't be visible either. ;D

After adding the MG support bar....closed the fuselage...

I can now start working on the outside. Lozenge, paint, tail...bits and bobs. All fun jobs. :)

Oh...and did the basic painting of the prop with my prop painting tool.
Don't expect wonders from it. The result gives me a starting point for brush painting the prop.

1. Start with a light colour for good contrast...

2. Clamp prop behind the louvres...

3. Airbrush....

4. Done...ready for brush painting now.

Some new goodies to play with....

More soon,

Robin :)

Ahh, now I understand how your prop painting tool works.  Very inventive.
Great looking work on all the bits, Robin.  Clean work on the engine and interior.

Thanks guys and gal.

"The Case Of The Two Lilacs" ;D

My take on them....

Tomorrow: varnish and lozenge.

And finally received the Maxima Chameleon line...

I was wondering about BvB's expensive taste for rigging line, but it seems I ordered 1000 metres of it. :o
Well, I can also do the Albi D.II rigging now.

What brass tubes do you use for that rigging line?
0.12mm sound a bit thick to get it two time trough my 0.4mm brass (inside 0.2). For my Gaspatch 1/48 turnbuckles even 0.4mm looks thick, but I have not found 0.35mm tubes.

By the way, you prop masking tool is available commercially in 1/32 scale here:

Thanks guys,

Frank, I'll use 0,5mm tubes....I know they're out of scale, but I can live with that.  :)
I've seen the 1/32 prop painting tool. I was first! 2011. ;D Maybe they "borrowed" my idea, or came up with the same idea...not knowing about mine.
I showed it on the Aerodrome forum in 2011.

Fredrik...yeah...I need more models!   8)

Today was another nice day at the bench...

Eduard has the placement of the Balkenkreuzen on the fuselage wrong.
In front of the lilac painted rear....they should be partly covered by it.
Easy to fix.

Also wrong....the width of the lilac fuselage band...too narrow. Of course also easy to fix.
A bit more work will be making new "Li" letters. The decals are way too skimpy and a bit too tall. they look stretched. I can make new ones, not a big deal.

Well, I can't see any other solution to the problem of too much rigging material! 😁
