I have only just seen this - what a wonderful and colourful model. First class painting and details going in there.

This looks like a great build. The SSW is one of the really neat looking fighters of the war. (I still can't get used to the lozenge camo.) Almost like a very early generation Hellcat - stubby and powerful. I knew the plane wasn't successful but Wikipedia claims that part of the over-heating trouble (very bad news in a rotary - or a radial) was that castor oil supplies were very low and the substitute didn't handle the extra challenge. Easy to forget how badly German industry was running down by 1918 and it crippled operations. And just when the German designers were coming up with a fine new generation of planes. Looking forward to seeing more.

Hi Pedja!
Your SSW is really amazing! You choose one of most flamboyant markings for this plane.
Maybe you know, but in Aerodrome there was two discussions on this plane, one about the LO marking on one side only and a second about red color also or not on upper surfaces of wings. Hope useful!
Many compliments!
Roberto

Pedja, I like the read shade! What paint did you use?

Since you selected the Udet marking:  If you like you can add 3! of his other machines to your collection at once. ;)

Cheers,
Frank
