Marek/Matt77 Aviatik Berg D.I in 1/33rd Scale
« on: January 26, 2018, 02:30:57 PM »
I've just completed this paper card model.  It was fun and great to do as my airbrush is giving me fits just as I was in the finishing stages of my WNW Dolphin!  Now I'll get that back on track.

This was built as per the kit with only a few additions like paper seat belts, rigging, control horns, a fleshed-out paper prop by putty and sanding, some engine detail and 20 gauge hypodermic needle tips for the machine gun extension tubes and a bit of pastel under the wings where I figure dirt from the wheels may have collected.  A pretty cool thing about these models is that it's really, really easy to add that all important washout on the Teutonic ailerons!  ;)

Anyway, here she is:

Thanks for looking.  Not sure which WWI paper model I'll do next, but it sure won't be long... ;)

Dan

Wonderful, Dan.
I am amazed what is possible to do with paper.

As Juan has written, you make it look so simple.... like the rest of your models! Super craftsmanship there.

Stephen.

If I didn't know it's a paper model I don't believe it: very well done and very realistic.

Well, building WWI stuff is difficult enough by itself. But doing so using only paper is a higher league.

Great job, sir!

Cheers
