I've just had a quick discussion with Lance Carroll since we're building the same model - WnW Pfalz D.XII and he suggested I post a question on this forum about a small feature seen in wartime photos of the A/C.
I noticed a detail on the Pfalz D.XII that isn't mentioned in the instruction sheet and seems missing from one of the the museum examples that I found on the Net. Near the leading edge of the top wing just above the engine is a port (molded on the kit's upper wing) and the wartime pic of the one I'm building (scheme A) shows a piece of tubing leading up to it from the engine somewhere. I have very little info or wartime pics of this plane, but would love to know what this is, and I'll try and emulate it.
One of the wartime pics in the instructions shows a crashed example with the nose and RHS crumpled, and this tubing seems to stand up proud of the wing a few inches.
Any one out there have idea about this detail?
Cheers,
Gary
