Thanks, Lance, Kevin, Des, and Rick!
Just a few final notes: I like the look of the photoetch cowling hold-down wire, but it was tough to glue it on after painting without getting CA blobs on the cowling. First, I taped the piece around a pen overnight to get it in shape, and then applied CA with a piece of wire. If I had to do it again, I would add the photoetch piece to the cowl with it extending slightly past the rear edge, then paint it and install so it covers the seam with the fuselage. After painting, I used a sanding stick to expose the metal wire. Looks great.
The plastic foot step and lift grab handles have mismatched seams and look too thick. I scraped the footsteps and used them, but they are prone to breaking and still look too thick. I replaced the grab handles with wire, but that was difficult to keep in place and I wound up with CA blobs on the underside.
Rigging on the landing gear is EZ Line with Bob's Buckles. I used the thicker line and separated it by pulling it apart so the strands are round, not the flat profile. Control wires are invisible sewing thread darkened with a Sharpie. And after the photo I added the wing stacking pads with drops of fabric glue painted dark grey.
