That USS Texas bird sure looks a lot like a Hanriot HD.1.  The dihedral is on the top wing and not the bottom wings, like you would see with the Camel.

Eric:

According to the archives at the US Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, FL the Texas used F.1 Camels as observation planes. Maybe they started with Hanriot, I know the US Navy used the Hanriot float plane version. I guess anything is possible.

Thanx,
Carl

Thanks Bo.  I guess not all US Hanriots sported floats after all.

What was funny, a little while ago I went on the Wingnut Wings website and in the upper right hand corner on the free shipping banner was the Hannover. Had to laugh.

..... and why have both the FE 2b special offers now appeared as "coming soon" when they were both freely available recently - would have thought "sold out" would be the next logical step.
(I had thought lack of supplies of the booklet might be the reason but the late Fee changed status a few days before the early one, which suggested they still had some books at that point.)
How very strange!

Back to the Hannover being sold out. I have one and if anyone is interested please contact me. I tried posting in Buy, Swap and Trade but I cannot figure out how to post there.
