Revell 1/48 SPAD XIII (Late)
« on: December 17, 2015, 12:09:55 AM »
I knew Monogram (Revell) had re-poped some of the old Aurora WWI kits (Fokker D.VII, Sopwith Camel, SE-5a) but I was caught off guard by this kit on my LHS shelf.  What is its' genesis and are there other "new" revell 1/48 WWI kits available?

Thanks,

Eduard shares WW1 molds, and others, with Revelle of Germany.

Interesting.  For the same plastic, who has the better price?

Are there other Eduard kits now in Revell boxes?

Yup, Bristol Fighter, Fokker DR. 1, Roland C.II that I can think of quickly.

Albatros D.Va, too.

And at least around here (The Netherlands), they're slightly cheaper than the Eduard originals (compared to the weekend editions). They also come with 2 decal options and have those excellent RoG decals. If not for the fact I don't build 1/48 I'd have picked up  a few.
Also, almost all hobby shops stock Revell, where only a very select few have Eduard. They can be had online, of course, but the price is then increased with shipping.

Found here in USA I can get the Eduard profilpack versions for less $$ than the RoG versions.

True in the USA the Revell Germany kits are higher than the Eduard ones, if they do not have the photoetch like the weekend kits the price is between the two is approx. $5.00 more for the RG ones.
