I just came across a home/hobby laser cutter for less than $1000 USD. Has anyone heard of this or had any experience with it?

Ooo oh ooh. That's very tempting. And it works with MacOS (and Ubuntu) as well as Windows.

Nice!  Please excuse my ignorance, fellas, but what are the dimensions of A3?  I'm pretty sure A4 is 8 1/2 x 11, but what's A3? And can this sort of laser cut brass?

A4 is 8.27 x 11.7 and A3 is 11.69 x 16.53 inches. It can cut thin wood, paper, cardboard, some plastics, but since it's only 3 watts it won't cut brass. It looks like it would be good for a lot of other thing in our world, like cutting ribs! This would have saved me sooo much time.

A nice little affordable laser cutter, it is a shame it won't cut metal. Laser cutters that will cut metal are a lot more expensive but with modern technology prices are dropping every day.
