Read in the Eduard newsletter that they are re-releasing the 1/72 Junkers J.1 in May. Been along time since this kit has been available.

Hi Mike,

you are right, I will be preparing a review of this re-release, hope to get the sample soon. In case of any interesting findings, I will post theme here.

Btw. A re-release of 1/48 Fokker E.III is scheduled for June. ;)

Cheers

That's good news. I missed out on it, then found one on evil-bay not long ago for a decent price. Glad it's going to be available again.

It is, but the e-mail I got on the May releases said to wait about ordering as they were going to have a big sale. Just sayin'. ;)

In any event, some very interesting schemes, I 'll definitely pick this one up to: 1) support Eduard for choosing to re-release a 1/72nd scale kit, maybe they'll make more, and 2) add another one to the stash because of the schemes.

What do y'all make of the color of the first two schemes?

I like those first two schemes Warren, makes for a totatally different looking Junkers J.1 to what we are used to seeing.

I agree Des, but I can't recall ever seeing that "tan" color in any Junkers profiles, etc. I'd almost describe it as a "desert" scheme, no?

As far as I can remember the tan colour was used on the very first machines produced.

I just tried ordering from Eduard, but with the discount token applied the total came to $19.95 so I couldn't place my order - minimum is $20!

I ordered it from Sprue Brothers instead, it's $19.99 and shipping under $9 instead of Eduard's $19 shipping.
