HELP - PE required
« on: February 16, 2015, 01:38:42 PM »
I am contemplating doing another scratch build and will require a length of roller chain. I used a Top Studio roller chain set for my huck starter but they are very expensive. I would like to make my own chain but need the plates made from brass as PE. They are very tiny and I would need a full sheet of them, does anyone have the equipment to make this for me, there would be hundreds of these plates on one sheet.

If onyone is interested please PM me with some cost estimates or if you could point me in the direction of someone who could help out.

Here is a picture with dimensions of what is required.

Many thanks.

Thanks very much Boggie and krow113, your help has been excellent. I have ordered the MFH chain set from BNA model world, it is coming express post so should have it in a day or two, I'm hoping that the 1:12 scale will be okay for my application.

krow113, you have done a superb job with your bikes, especially like the 47'Bobber and its girder forks, my 39' BSA M21 (real one) had girder forks.

I tried your direct link first but the set is listed as out of stock, and the price is a few dollars more than what I paid at BNA Model World in Melbourne. I think I will give this MFH set a try first, it looks a lot easier to assemble than the Top Studio chain set, many thanks for your help.

With reference to the pic at the following link, they are a little larger than your specs. About 1mm longer and .2mm wider it looks to me.
Hopefully that wont be too excessive.
Looking forward to your new scratchy, whatever it may be.   :)
But I bet it's got lots of rigging!  ;D
