Bristol Fighter F.2B from TVAL in Cracow Museum
« on: October 12, 2014, 12:39:37 AM »
Going to New Zealand is still a dream of mine but a piece of New Zealand came to Poland! Polish Aviation Museum in Cracow has a TVAL built Biff for lease for two months! And I had a chance to drive 500 kms from my place to see it. And I smelt it, saw the oil dripping, touched the linen and took almost 200 photos of it. Anybody interested, please write me an email and we can arrange a transfer via We Transfer web server - the photos weight altogether just over 1GB.
And here is a little teaser:

As you see it is a 300hp Hisso version as was used in Polish Air Force in 1920s. And sir Peter Jackson was so kind to depict his replica in our colours!

And yes! What you see in the background are TVAL made wings for Roland D.VI! There is hope that the only preserved fuselage in the world will have them!

THAT is some great news - finally Wings for my favorite plane, the Roland D.VIa / b.

Would not surprise me if TVAL has built more than just a pair of wings for the Roland.
Perhaps a new fuselage with tail is built in New Zealand. Who knows? ::)

Thank you PrzemoL for this pictures ;)

You may surely be right, Bertl. Also in saying that Roland is beautiful. ;)

If you want to see it, Jacek, you have to hurry up, it is there only till the end of October.

Gorgeous photos, Prez!  Thanks for posting.  Now I know what to do with one of the many 1/48 scale Bristol Fighter kits I've got in the stash.
Cheers,
Bud

I did not realise you had the F2B only for two months. That is sad for Poland  :(  Perhaps after that time it will be returned to TVAL in NZ? That would be good for us down here, but we are very spoiled already. I think it is good to share the love, like with the two BE2e planes from TVAL currently in the UK
