I never realised the WWI german U Boots were so large:
The surrendered Type II boat was due to be transferred to France but the tow parted and she went aground at Hastings in April 1919

Here is a propaganda postcard showing a map of the British Isles and the locations of the last year's losses due to the U-Boot war. "England's Not" translates as England's Torment (according to an online translation website)
