1/48 WW I Stash Out the Door
« on: April 08, 2014, 07:24:47 AM »
I'm selling off (hopefully in one or two cartons) my early and primitive stash of 1/48 kits. These kits have been following me around the world and their last traumatic experience involved taking a bath in some muddy African flood waters. I'd been collecting them with the idea of someday working up the nerve to try 1/48 rigging, but now with my addiction to WNW, I realize that they have to go.  These are not collector items; almost every box is seriously worse for wear and half to most are missing decals. I've inspected and described the condition of the kits below; since most were resting in intact boxes, I made the assumption that all  of the parts were present.  That said, there were a few odd bits lying in the big storage box, including parts for kits I never found and a neat 1/48 scale white metal (pewter?) figure of MvR. All this stuff will go to whomever buys he lot. I'm trying to avoid selling kits off individually so as not to have to do a lot of mail preparation.

I have no idea what this stuff is worth, so I'm asking USD 100 for the lot, plus shipping.  I realize that some of this stuff is sub-standard, but the are some decent models in there and some OOP kits. If you are interested, but think the price is outrageous, make an offer. Re shipping, I could re-pack some of the kits in zip-lock bags to save space, or if you don't want some of the kits at all, I could pull them out and try to find a home for them, saving weight and space. If anyone is concerned that a particular kit may be missing parts, just ask and I'll do a detailed comparison of the box contents to the instructions, if there are any.  Please feel free to ask questions. I hope I can be forgiven for listing the Sikorsky S-38, which I guess is a Golden Age aircraft. but it is a cool kit for the masochistically inclined.  Thanks for your patience.
