WNW Roland DVIa
« on: February 16, 2014, 09:30:03 PM »
Hello guys,

I would like to share with you my latest - the absolutely wonderfull WNW ROland DVIa, the whole build was a blast and everything went together without any problems - even te self inflicted issues were easily solved :) For this build I used Aviattic Lozenge (thanks Richard for the sample) and gaspatch models turnbuckles, a PE fret made by Szymon (thank you) and Taurus models extras for the engine. The propeller is self made and while quite far from Doug Craner's handcarved one it is OK. I really enjoyed every second of the build. Here are the pictures:
Of course questions, comments, constructive criticism and any feedback are more than welcomed ;)

best regards,
Sasho

Beautiful aircraft Sasho!  The wood tone looks great, as does the lozenge.  Both are very well applied.  The display scene is also very well-executed.

Excellent work!  ;D  Thanks for sharing this lovely model.

Cheers,

Bob

Beautiful, Sasho! Very convincing. I'm looking forward to trying my hand at the Roland I have in my stash after seeing this shining example.

Sasho,
Your DVI is outstanding! Lovely wood work, Lozenge and the figure / presentation in the Vignette set the whole thing off!

What a wonderful Roland, Sasho!  The woodwork is superb.  Very nice job
with the lozenge and the propeller is just great.  Beautiful model.  I like the
mechanic as well.  Well done!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Beautifully done, beautifully presented, in every way a top class model. The propellor is really very good indeed and I especially like the figure and other elements of the mini-diorama. Many congratulations.

Thanks for the comments guys, this buid turned up better than expected and was really really enjoyable from start to finish!
The only downfall is the face of the mechanic, which I don't like, but this is my second figure only and probably when I get better at figure painting I will have to re do it :)

Extraordinary, Sasho!  She's absolutely gorgeous.  I hope that when I finally get around to building mine, she'll turn out half as fine.
Cheers,
Bud

This is increasingly becoming one of my favourite planes - I think its the planking - and you're done it proud. The warm wood tones look great and the little diaroma sets it all off very nicely.  I have to get myself one of these!

cheers
