Excellent service
« on: December 18, 2013, 07:01:34 AM »
I ordered an item on the net on Friday afternoon from Adelaide in South Australia, being late Friday nothing happened until Monday morning which is fully understandable. The item flew from Adelaide to Sydney on Monday, I checked my tracking number first thing Tuesday morning and it had been cleared through Sydney and was in country NSW and would be dlivered that day. The door bell rang at around 12.30 and sure enought there was my parcel, the guy said that it was flown from Sydney to Nowra, this is only a two hour drive by courier but they flew it down only taking 20 minutes, the whole point of this is that the item I purchased only cost $48 and it was FREE POST.

Des.

PS: The item was sent through TOLL Transport and not Aussie Post

That is excellent service. My daughter sent me a birthday card and it took a week in the post...I can drive down to see her in 40 minutes!
Regards, Ken

For you Guys in "Oz" here's a story about Aussie Post that may make you feel not so bad...............
I recently received a set of Steven's spoked wheels from him via Aussie Post to Canada. Postage was $2.67 AD which is more or less on par with the Canadian dollar. By comparison a lighter envelope (which had to be classified as a "parcel"; them's the rules for out of country mail over the size of a letter sized white envelope don't you know!) to the USA cost me $23.30at Canada Post........10 times the cost in Australia and I was cautioned that it could take up to 2 weeks for delivery. My wheels took 6 days all the way from Australia!?!
Maybe the Aussie system ain't so bad?? I'll cease my rant now.......
Cheers,
Lance

I think the best (worst) experience I had with the British postal system was, a few years ago now, Lyn and myself were on holiday in Majorca, arrived on the Sat. Sent step daughter a card on the following Wed. It was posted at lunchtime, it had a postmark on it saying Palma at 6:30pm the same day, 800 miles later it had a London postmark on it saying 1:00pm the following day, from London to Amersham, where we live, 25 miles, it took 2 weeks, we were home before the card arrived, great British postal service.

Cheers

Pete.
