hello
« on: August 31, 2013, 07:45:19 PM »

Hello all, nice to see a forum dedicated to WWI aircraft, not very favorite period in french modelling!
you understand i'm French, so don't be surprised if my language is not very developped!
I build plastic models since 6 years, my favorite is 1/24 modelcars, but i build also tanks, boats, figures and  of course airplanes, civils airliners and military propellers (BF 109 G6 1/24 scale).
I'd just start my first WWI airplane, a Nieuport 24 bis 1/32 Roden model, the reason why i come in your forum, i believe not only for this one but many others because I really enjoy this planes!

Hello Quentin and welcome to the forum, so good to see you here. No need to apologise for your English, it is fine, far better than my French. I'm looking forward to seeing you post your first WW1 aircraft builf on the forum.

Hi Quentin and welcome to a brilliant forum that is friendly and full of ideas.

Don't feel the need to apologise for your English language skills. I've lived near Limoges for nine years and, hard though I try, my command of French still causes me much frustration. Whereabouts in France are you?

Good luck with the Nieuport 24. Whilst you have to search around for models of French World War I aircraft in the bigger scales there are some out there and the feeling in my old bones is that we'll see more and more appearing as  manufacturers explore new fields. I can't wait for the Wingnut Wings Salmson 2-A2

Best wishes
Nigel

it's true there is more and more French WWI modelkits, but in France not many builders for this period. they prefere WWII and moderns fighters.

Welcome to our "Happy Place" Quentin. There are not a lot of Modellers doing World War One Subjects in Western Canada either, the most popular being the Second Great War however I find all the knowledge, inspiration, and encouragement I need right here. Great bunch of like minded folks and a very friendly place to share your Hobby.
Cheers,
Lance
