Des Delatorre Scratch-built Engines to Rehome
« on: January 29, 2026, 06:33:57 PM »
Hi all,

It's been a while since I last posted here. For those who don't know me, I'm Dave and I used to work at Wingnut Wings, which feels like a lifetime ago now!

The reason for my post is that I've been having a bit of a clean-out and came across a drawer containing some modelling items I no longer need. One of the containers held several scratch-built parts created by Des Delatorre.

When Des passed away, his widow very kindly donated all of his completed models to Peter Jackson. He also had a large collection of modelling-related items, which I was asked to bring back home to New Zealand, as they were no longer needed. Among those items are the engines and propellers shown in the image below.

I don't have a use for them myself, and it feels like a real shame to have them sit unused in a drawer. I'm hoping to rehome them with someone who may be in a position to complete or make use of Des's beautiful handiwork. Unfortunately, I'm unable to identify which aircraft these parts were intended for.

I'm not asking for anything in return, just that postage is covered.

If you're interested, please feel free to flick me a PM or leave a comment on this post, and we can sort out the details.

Cheers,
Dave
