WnW 1/32 scale Sopwith Triplane
« on: May 06, 2025, 09:14:44 AM »
Hi folks - here are some photos of my recently completed WnW Sopwith Triplane with the two Model Cellar figures of the RFC pilot & mechanic. This particular aircraft was the only one of its type to be delivered to the Royal Flying Corps.
A brief summary of my build is here: https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=14978.msg275064#msg275064
A brief summary of the figures is here:  https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=14990.0
Cheers,
Gary

That's turned out really well and it looks great with the figures, a very nice addition. I really like the way you handled the rib tapes, both on the underside and topsides. They look very realistic without overdone "zebra stripes". A lovely job all round and quick as well!

A wonderful model Gary, and as Nigel points out the treatment of the rib tapes is right on the mark. I really like the results of your efforts to replicate the "turned" pattern on the metal cowling and nose area; your mesh patterned swirls portray the effect perfectly and the figures , as always, are superb. Beautiful work!

What can I add? I agree with all of Lance's comments, especially with reference to the metal work. The figures are stunning and add something special to an already outstanding model.

Stephen.

Fantastic workmanship as ever, Gary - and I also love your turned metal cowling effect.

Gary, your kits are so good, they have inspired me to purchase the Sturmpanzerwagen A7V and Sopwith Triplane kits for my stash. Keep them coming!

Very nicely built, the polishing marks on the Engine cowling and the sheet metal covers are first class - the figures are also very realistically painted.
Bravo.
A very convincing diorama.
