Shelf Queen 2025 GB 1/32 Roden + Aviattic Fokker F.I Voss
« on: February 09, 2025, 10:34:43 PM »
So I started this kit quite a long time ago, got the interior mostly done but it has been sitting around gathering dust. I have not been good at finishing anything in a long time as well but this feels like a good kit to try to get my "mojo" back with.

There are at least two Roden kits in the box, various other detail parts, but I aim to build the Voss F.I; I recently picked up the Aviattic decals and etch for this subject and also had their cowling for it, plus I have a Gaspatch engine that looked really good for the LeRhone (I believe the Voss tripe had a captured engine?)

I may source a few parts from the Meng kit as well since I believe I have spares.

I heard that it all started when a bloke called Archie Duke shot an ostrich 'cause he was hungry!

One can never have too many Fokker Tripes in any scale.  ;)

Ok removed some of the dust off the interior framework - still kinda "gritty" and a few pieces broken off. I think I was having issues with adding etched seatbelts and I managed to damage the seat thus removing it and starting to repaint it but memory is hazy. Also had borrowed the ammo box from a WNW Fokker DVII - the Roden box is not the greatest, lacking detail etc.

Given this is a F.I I believe current thinking is that the interior frame was black instead of "grey green" as later DrI and DVII would have been so I will likely do a repaint of those areas at least. I did find that my "go-to" colors for CDL, Fokker Green etc had rather dried up which is unfortunate - more orders placed for new...
