0.3 mm drill bits, where to buy them?

Hello all,

I have trouble finding 0.3 mm quality drill bits.

Does anyone know where I can buy them? Preferably on the European continent (because of shipping cost).

I am looking for single 0.3 mm bits, as opposed to a set of drills runnung from (for example) 0.2 to 1.3 mm.

Sorry this is of limited help: Hannants in the UK do sell them singly, but, well, they're in the UK.

I wanted to say something else; others may quite reasonably disagree, but I also used to want 'quality' bits, but I think I was kidding myself about that. At 0.3mm, drill bits simply are very fragile, and your drilling technique would have to be amazing, not to break them every so often. I don't break them that often myself, but I accept that it will happen. What I'm saying is, that the 'quality' matters a lot less than technique and the materials you're dealing with

I can vouch for Drill Bits Unlimited as well, but their shipping rates keep Willem and a lot of others in the EU and the rest of the world from ordering from them. It's too bad there's not a clear equivalent "go to" source on the Continent, but maybe this thread will uncover one.

Slightly off the topic of the original question, but I'm a great believer in quality when it comes to drill bits. I had a bunch of cheap Chinese bits which were practically useless, they were "duller than hoes" as our saying here in New England goes. The DBU bits—even the resharpened ones—are sharp, and just like with a blade, the sharper the tool, the less effort is required to use it, and the less chance you have of marring your workpiece, or breaking the bit.

I've used these and they are good quality. They don't snap as easily as the Drill Bits Unlimited carbide ones, maybe not as sharp, but there again we only use them to drill into plastic.

I ordered 15 each of 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5 mm.

I also bought the Tamiya fine pin vise that wil take diameters from 0.1 to 1.0 mm.

Drills were €0.89 per drill and only €2.89 shipping cost
