Eduard have another Sopwith Camel on the way
« on: January 08, 2022, 11:26:20 AM »
Eduard are expanding their range of new tool 1/48 Sopwith Camels and have announced a Clerget-engined Camel F.1 is due for release in February.

This expands the new tool Camel range launched with the Camel Combo late last year, followed in December by the BR.1 engined version.

Eduard are also expanding their range of Camel aftermarket items with a move toward more 3D printed items.

One due for release this month is a 1/48 Gnome engine from the Brassin line.

Not given a release date yet is, we believe, a 1/48 Sopwith Camel Comic night fighter, a kit many have been hoping would be produced and it looks like our wishes are about to come true.

I'm tickled for the 1/48th crowd. I wonder if they'll scale it down for 1/72nd?  They've done this with some other kits before . . . . hope springs eternal . .

Alexis, it will come for sure! The boss promised the Comic version of the Camel, I guess we will see it in May or so.
And on the sprues are a lot of unused parts, e.g. the lamps, instruments panels with one MG, Lewis MG holder for the upper wing and more.

Eduard has a lot of great plans with new things for this year, the Limited Kit of the USS Arizona, decals with surface details and more.

Cheers,
Frank

That's excellent news Dave - original Clerget-powered camel N6254 (painted as B5663, mount of 10 Naval Squadron RNAS pilot F/Lt Wilf Curtis) is flying with TVAL so I expect this kit will do well among Kiwi modellers!

I look forward to reading the review on the forum once the kit's released.

Thanks Dave for sharing this one - good for us Aussies to see Cobby's mount getting a run in the decal sheet :)

Cheers,
