1/72 Albatros D.II

Along with the Albatros D.I I built the Albatros D.II. It was a bit easier than the D.I but the struts were still a
little too long. A yellower shade was used for the fuselage. Mister kit acrylics for the wings.

Rigging was with .005 Nitinol wire. I always thought the Albatros D.II was a sleek looking aircraft

Both the D.I and D.II together. Years ago I constructed an albatros D.II form the Revell albatros D.III and the Airfix Roland C.II. from an article in a Scale Models magazine april 1973. It was my first kit bash.

In fact many were wondering why Albatros change a sturdy wing design copying a sesquiplane design developed for a lighter crate....only his lightness save the Nieuport from the same trouble....

I seemed to have missed this one so sorry for the late reply! Lovely Albatros. I like the more straw colored wood effect on the fuselage and the rigging looks awesome!
