Hello from the middle of France
« on: November 17, 2012, 09:02:28 PM »
Hello all

Living deep in the heart of France I'm some way from the mainstream, yet we have a reasonably good model shop 20 kilometres away  in Limoges and those Wingnutwings/Pheon deliveries have been pretty successful so far.  Increasingly clumsy fingers/failing eyes consigned 1/72 to the bin years and years ago and anyway I had stacked up some Eduard/Roden 1/48 Great War models.

I owe a great debt to Des in a couple of senses. First in terms of the great website;  second in being so responsive to what must have seemed daft questions; and third in inspiring me to get out that half-finished Bristol Fighter, the carelessly damaged SE5a, and the DH2 I'd given up on, and complete them within the limits of my ability.

When work commitments permit it will be onto the Wingnutwings things I'm stocking up, but first a dress rehearsal on that frustrating Roden 1/32 Sopwith Triplane. I just can't wait for the Wingnutwings version to come out but would also so love to see a 1/48 state of the art version of this Triplane too. Maybe one day Eduard will really update the old version.....

Best wishes
Nigel

Hello Nigel and welcome to the forum, it is so nice to see you here. There is a fantastic group of people here on the forum with some very talented modelers who are all willing to share their knowledge and experience, and there is no such thing as a daft question, just inquisitive minds seeking answers. I look forward to seeing you post your projects here soon, the Bristol fighter, the SE.5a and the DH.2 are all wonderful kits and with your attention will end up as being great models.

Welcome aboard Nigel. I'm sure that you'll enjoy yourself here. I too owe a great deal to Des and his patience with my endless questions. I swear that he must have the patience of Job. Now if I could only get my fingers to put that information into action . . .

Cheers,

Chris

Well I didn't see that coming and I've just ordered the Pup! Thanks Von Buckle. So here's the dilemma. I'll need to work to pay for it and thereby reduce the time  available to make it. But then, I suppose to someone of my generation, it is like possessing a piece of fine art. Perhaps I could just put the box on show in the display cabinet.

Best wishes and thanks to all of the other welcoming posts
