Good day, I built this 1/48 Albatros D.II a few years ago, and just used it as a back drop for a new Model Cellar figure of a German pilot I just finished painting. Thanks for looking!
Cheers,
Gary

That's a pretty fancy Back Drop Gary, very very nice, both of them. Retirement seems to be treating you well, projects are just flying off of your work bench........ Nice to see!

Outstandingly beautiful plane and figure. Looks larger than 1/48, congratulations on both.

Terrific figure, Gary. The face looks very realistic and the overall is very good, too.

Beautiful figure, I never say it's small as 1/48 if you didn't say. And very nice Alb, for me really more then a simple backdrop, the pair being a good vignette.

Thanks guys, and yes Lance - I'm able to spend a bit more time modelling now that I'm retired. Certainly appreciated today when it was -40C outside!
That Model Cellar figure is so well sculpted and cast it was a pleasure to experiment with more acrylics. I also acquired a Manfred von Richthofen figure in this scale and need to get a 1/48 triplane to go with him. Too bad I got rid of all my 1/48 WW1 aircraft when I discovered WnW kits :-)
Cheers,
Gary

Hi Gary,
VERY NICE ! You did a great job on the figure =). The prop looks great. I really like the wood grain on the fuselage, and the subtle paint chipping on the spinner/cowling. Great job - keep 'em coming.

What a superb pair. The wood effect on the Albatros is something I coulod die for. The figure really sets everything off.

She's absolutely gorgeous, Gary! Beautiful job on the pilot, as well. I love the early Albatrosen and yours is a beauty.
Cheers,
Bud
