Fokker DVII (Alb) Lt Degelow
« on: March 06, 2017, 05:42:12 AM »
There's a musical instrument shop in town that sells great guitars, and no guitarist worth their salt would buy one without trying it out first. The shop of course accommodates these budding Rockstars in trying out the guitars, but there is a great big sign on the wall: "NO SMOKE ON THE WATER". Well, if you're going to do a WNW kit, this is the most popular kit in the most popular colour scheme, so my apologies. But it is the first WNW kit I've completed (Not the first one started.. note..) so please bear with me... And as we start on the learning curve, there are mistakes, some I know about, others will come to light. But it was an enjoyable build and an education, it took me two years with a few breaks...

Here we go again... Dum dum dum, dum dum da da dum...

There are a few tweaks I added... especially around the radiator... I'm not sure if it is of interest...

Regards,

Marc

Very nice - love the scheme - black fuselage and lozenge wings rocks even if it is smoke on the water :)

Very nicely done Marc, a beautiful example of a crisp very clean build. A most popular kit and scheme for sure however a very nice one on both counts!
Cheers,
Lance

Nice work Marc. It's done often, but it's a lovely scheme, and your build does it justice.

Lovely work Marc. Doesn't matter how often it is done before as long you don't have ten of the same at home.  ;)

Smoke on the water, shadow in the sky!
Well, Marc, pity you had not it done one year ago, for me to see it. But great, you have finished it. Lovely model! The scheme maybe known but still, it is one of finest you can find. Great! And I am looking forward to the info, how you did with this model last Saturday.  ;)
And I assume, that now, once the start is already behind you, more WNW models will follow from your desk. Fingers crossed. :)

Thank You Steve, Bud, Przemo, Manni, MMarshall, Lance, Paul, Juan, ED and Rick for the kind comments, it was a good feeling just to get it finished! It didn't do particularly well in our competition, Przemo, too much stiff opposition! But I did send the photos to Richard Alexander and he posted them in Customer Models... I'm not sure, but possibly the first from South Africa! Well, I will move on, there is an unfinished Pup (the thread is way back) and one or two others I am fiddling with, so I will be posting soon...

Regards and Thanks for the advice, tips and inspiration!

Regards,

Marc
