1/48 Smer SE5A
« on: March 15, 2016, 10:08:37 PM »
Certainly not the best example about but I soldered on and not too displeased with the outcome.
The plane depicted is that of Capt L.W.Jarvis of 56 squadron England 1917 and paints used were Misterkit RFC green and linen. I used monofilament for the rigging.

The background is from Noys available through Hannants.

Toby,
You managed to turn that very old mold into a very nice looking SE! Very well done!

The classic silk purse, Toby!  Very fine job, mate.  Love the Noy's back drop.  Thanks for the heads up.  Just ordered one.
Cheers,
Bud

The kit may be old but in your skilled hands it has turned into a first class model.

Toby

Really great job on this old kit, well done mate.

I've built a few of these Smer kits so I can really appreciate the work that you would have put into it.

Toby, your model looks excellent! That backdrop is such a nice touch for your pictures, too. Well done!
