Jasmine Model 1/48 F6F Hellcat
« on: March 03, 2016, 03:54:42 AM »
Nothing like relaxing in front of the TV with a few sheets of laser-cut stainless steel parts and folding, bending, and gluing them into a skeletal rendering of a 1/48 Hellcat.   The following span a couple months' worth of metal fun.   :)

And that's as far as I've gotten.  Still have the starboard wing to build then add the landing gear and engine which are silver-painted cast resin.

Cheers,
Eric

watching with a jalous eye... looks perfect so far!
do you plan to leave the finish like this or some paint?

Yup, as soon as I saw the kit announced last year I knew I had to have one.   The engineering and design is brilliant.
It will remain unpainted.  I like the jewel-like look of the polished metal.  I've also built their 1/72 Horten Ho 229 and 1/350 U-boat.

Cheers,
Eric

Wow Eric, what a fantastic looking Hellcat, this is the first time I have seen this kit and I am overly impressed and you have done a superb job putting it together, I'm really looking forward to seeing this one completed.

Incredible kit and a great building job.

If I tried to build that I'm afraid my eyes would explode and I'd get the terminal hand quivers.

I saw something similar but it was a Zero and I think it was 1/32. When I looked at their website they didn't have a Zero so thinking it may be another company. They do look good, but I am guessing you will need infinite patience to do those

I believe you're thinking of these.

Those look really cool too but if you think WNW kits are expensive, you should see what those IMCTH kits cost!  The Zero is one of the least expensive and is 30,652 yen which converts to about $270 US dollars.  And that's not including shipping cost.
