American DH4 "tunnel guns"

The Windsock Datafile #101 has a photo (#75 on Page 28) showing the belly of a crashed USAS DH4 in immediate post-war service with twin Lewis guns projecting down and rearward through openings aft of the camera port. The text on Page 5 describes these as, "Some DH4s had an additional one or two Lewis or Marlin weapons mounted in a 'tunnel gun' position under the fuselage, fired by means of a Bowden cable."

This must have been an uncommon fitting as i can find no other photographic evidence or mention, including in the old Profile Publications #97 or in NASM's "de Havilland DH-4 From Flaming Coffin to Living Legend". Does someone have any further info, photos or plans of this installation?

Thanks,
