« on: November 01, 2014, 04:04:26 AM »
Hey guys, I know this has been up in the WNW Annual Speculation thread for a day or two but thought it deserved its own thread! Congrats to Richard, Harry and Ron on working on this AWESOME kit for our Modeling Pleasure.

Thanks for starting the new thread, RAG.

This is not my area of expertise so let me ask; when comparing the profiles, there seems to be some commonalities between the Balilla and the SVA5. But, are there enough that an SVA5 might follow from Aviattic or that a conversion set might appear? Or are they just too different?

Thanks for the help!

Cheers from NYC,
Michael

Michael:

Going from sketchy memory, I recall that the SVA5 and the Balilla bear a family resemblence, but are substantially diffferent aircraft, with the SVA5 being significantly larger and, I believe, proving better suited to reconnaisance work.  I seem to recall reading that the Balilla was more nimble and maneuverable.  Anyone with mor knowledge please jump in and correct me.

I would love to see a 1/32 SVA5 kit some day, as well, but will revel in the Balilla for the foreseeable future! :D

Cheers,

Bob

OK, Bob and Richard....thanks for the feedback. Or, should I say Mille Grazie. When I first decided to get into 1/32 WWI it was partly because of the amazing beauty of these Ansaldo aircraft. To think that one is now definitely in my future is Magnifico!

Cheers from NYC,
Michael

This is just the best news.  Yes, congratulations Richard and Ron and all the other helper elves.

I reckon it’s fantastic that we now have a new WW1 kit manufacturer.  Richard, please plant a great big X on the end of Ron’s nose for me.

Aviattic Rocks!
