Thanks to Gunther for sending me this set of photos, the control wheel is off an Etrich/Rumpler Taube, there are two photos of a sound locator and some bombs.

The writing on the cloth says:  Take the report out of the can, read it, put it back into the can and do everyting that the report reaches the right address at once.
