i have seen a couple people make them from brass tube and steel wire. i tryed and it isnt too hard. you cut steel wire to the length you need. then cut a brass tube slightly shorter so it leaves a little of the wire to stick out which is what you glue in the holes on the wings. after you crush the brass tube in a vice preferably lined with plastic so it doesnt imprint marks. you then take a file or sanding sticks and file the shape, after you get the shape, sand with finer and finer grades of sanding stick until smooth. it sounds like alot of work and i guess it is. i only made one to see how hard it was and it only took 15minutes. i forget who did this but maybe i can find a link for you so you can see photos. good luck.
