After the Fokker D-VII Group Build
« on: August 14, 2014, 04:18:59 AM »
This one has been calling from the stash for some time now (yes, I plan to use the WNW decals rather than masking, respectful apologies to Brad C) and though I'm still adding aftermarket sets it brings me great comfort to know that I already have my refreshments lined up. Anytime two or more of one's favorite pastimes come together it's a magical thing.

Thats a really nice Albatros scheme and will make for a jaw-dropper in 1/32 scale. I'm surprised the WNW Albatros kits haven't sold out yet, they seem more popular than the D.VIIs.

I'll be following this build with much interest.

cheers and happy modelling

Looking forward to seeing another one of these.  Unfortunately that decal set is now sold out I believe - I was one of the lucky ones to have this earlier, here's a progress pic during the build...

Wow! That's a treat to behold Ian. What a beauty.

Cheers,

You can have it good; You can have it fast; you can have it cheap. Pick any two, but all three are impossible.

Thanks for the encouragement, Dave!  Please don't hold your breath, it may be awhile with the Fok. D.VII GB and after that I'm likely to switch tracks with something in CDL or PC10 before getting to the Albatros.

Your Albatros looks really nice, Ian. Certainly looks like the decals fit the fuselage very well, which is an encouraging sign.

That is one very impressive Albatros. Pity those markings are not available in God's Own Scale.
