I was cruising Perth today, and see that Tamiya is planning to show A Mk IV Male at Shizouka this year. 1/35th scale.

Guess we'll have to wait and see exactly what theyre putting out? Still it's exciting news though to see some interest in WWI from the big boys..

Just saw te news on the Perth Military model site. It is to be a moterised version, so my guess is..
It is again an old mould (don't know for shure) and some new figures. That is not bad, Tamiya figures are great most of the time.

A new Mk IV from Tamiya is great news! I don't see how it could be an old mould though, as far as I know T. has never kitted one before? As for motorised I really hope not I want a full interior, not a toy...

Either way, this is really great news and will fill a much needed space! Now, where can I shift my old Emhar kits?

probably the same mold as tamiya will use. tamiya has been doing that sort of thing for years. prime recent example italeri put a new tool for the 1/48 stuka with full engine and figures photoetch and all. tamiya re-boxed it and sells it. so i wouldnt be surprised if the takom plastic will be the tamiya kit.

If Tamiya releases a motorized mkIV, and Takom these, I know who's going to get my hard earned hobby money... I already have the Takom Renault and the St Chamond in my stash, and they are great!  If there is a motor in the T. Release they would loose out against these for sure, even if the moulds are the same (which I doubt, as it says the driving system and suspension are exactly reproduced in the Takom offering - if T. will plonk an engine in theirs, that would not work?).

It also looks like the Male will have metal barrels... Well by all accounts it would seem we finally and for sure will get the kits we so long  have wanted!

Thanks Dal for the link, this looks to be a very impressive kit and I feel will prove very popular, it is great to see these companies venturing into WW1 models.
