Looking for Hobbycraft Nieuport 17 Billy Bishop decals
« on: February 03, 2014, 03:04:36 AM »
Hello, if anyone has the 1/32 scale Hobbycraft Nieuport 17 with Billy Bishop decals, I'm looking for a high res scan of them, as I wish to build Bishop's aircraft in 1/48 scale.  I believe there were several issues of this kit, I'm looking for the ones with the maple leaf on the right side of the cockpit.  If anyone has these and can scan them, send me a PM please.  I already have the Eduard 1/48 kit with Bishop's markings but it does not have the maple leaf on the decal sheet.
Thanks
Dave

If someone has these, and if these aren't commercially available as AM or copyrighted, and if Dave is okay with it, could the donor make these available here? I'd like to build the Academy Nieuport in Bishop markings when I get around to that kit.

Hope I'm not stepping on any toes...

No luck Lindsay, either no one has them or they do not wish to scan them.

Yeah, that's really too bad. Might not be too difficult to have some masks made...

It would be quite simple to make the mask of a maple leaf, based on the Canadian flag, but I have not seen an actual photo of the leaf on Bishop's aircraft so do not know how it was painted, either green, flag red or maybe brownish red for a fall leaf?

Hi Dave

Sorry for the delay in responding to your query re the 1/32 Hobbycraft Nieuport 17 Billy Bishop decals but I've been away and only just returned and found your post.

The good news is I have this kit and have checked the decal sheet which indeed does have the Maple leaf on it.

I can scan them for you if you send me via PM a email address. I won't post them on the forum publicly as it could be a copyright issue but believe I can share reference information with fellow modellers.

Let me know via PM what you want to do.

kind regards
