Question about smoothing out dried Future

So, I finally decided to give the ol' Future polish a try. First off, I love it. Its probably one of the easiest things to do in modeling. Brush it on, wait, done. Thats it. I can believe I didnt do this sooner. 

One question however: there were a couple of spots the the polish collected together a little thick. Mostly where gravity sort of pulled it down and it collected a little heavier than other spots. Is there a trick to smoothing this out after it has dried? If I add more polish to the area, will it work itself out? Its not TERRIBLY noticeable but, you know, I know its there so it will forever bother me.

I suggest you to have some trials not directly on that wing, but try with ammonia, drop a little on the thick spot, wait few seconds, then spread it with a soft brush...

you can also sand it then polish, but wait several days before trying this. The stuff takes a while to really cure, until then it is kind of gummy.

Try a little Ammonia based window cleaner.  Damped a Q-Tip with it, then slowly run it over the spot where the Future pooled.  It will help to level it out.  Also, if you are applying it, and notice it pooling, you can use a bit of paper towel and wick some off.  It will self-level and remove the pool.
