A different sort of topic to mention...After living in Canada for the past few decades, I recently found out that I was actually a dual citizen of Canada and the United Kingdom of Great Britain. Having been born in England, our family moved to Canada when I was 10, and I got my Canadian citizenship at 17 years old. My wife and I regularly travel to the UK for our holidays, and last year we had to add an "ETA" to our Canadian passports allowing us to enter the country.
But the rules changed last February, and anyone born in the UK needs to have a British passport to now enter the country. After a lengthy process I now have both my British and Canadian passports in order to enjoy our planned holiday in the UK later this year.
I found this out completely by chance when my brother Tony spoke to his travel agent, who filled him in on the rule change. I wasn't well advertised and many were caught without the required documentation and had to re-schedule or cancel their trips.
So just a heads-up if you (or apparently your offspring) fall into this category.
