That's gorgeous Rick. Always liked the lines of a B-17 and that model has captured the look. Lovely finish - so well done.
Cheers,
Gary

Thanks Nigel! I am actually not 100% pleased with the results as I think I ended up a "Bit" too dirty ! Oh well still not bad for one I meant to be a Practice Model!

Thanks Gary! Yep, the 17 is a cool looking Big Bird! I just started what I hope is a more serious build of a Revelle B-17F in 1/72nd scale!!

Just finished this P-51B. Academy 1/72nd scale kit plus the last scheme from the Ancient Microscale Aces of the 8th sheet. Built OOB. MRP and Model Master OD over Tamiya Neutral Grey. Weathering with Oils. Just a note, the darker OD patches were seen on the original. Not sure if camo or just some touch up/weathering!

Lovely work on both Rick!

I'm working on a couple of P-40s and have learned that some USAAF aircraft finished in Olive Drab had splotches of Medium Green painted on the flying surfaces (some on the fuselage too) - that may be what you saw on your references for your Mustang. Here's a preserved local P-40N s/n NZ3220 with original paint showing the splotches, which don't appear on any decal sheet instructions for this well-known airframe:

Great results Rick. I have a bunch of 'Heavies" in the stash but no place to put-em.

I never got what they were trying to accomplish with those squiggle blotches. Seems a waste of time and paint.
Thanks,
Allan Buttrick

Allan, those squiggles break up the outline.

Like you, finding display space for these in my home is an issue.

Thanks to all for the comments! Greatly appreciated!!
Zac, I thought about those "Green" blotches being that style of Camo. They just don't look the part in the photo. ( Original Color from the period)
Allan and Warren,

A pair of first class models there Rick, especially the B17 which has a superb finish.

Where are the spare wings and rigging wires?

Stephen.

Both are wonderful, Rick but my favourite is your P51B which looks smashing.
