Richthofen decals needed, 1/48......
« on: April 10, 2025, 12:23:42 AM »
I know, I know...not another red triplane, not again....
I was thinking of something a little less stressful to build when I completed my Eduard Hannover. (If I ever build anything at all ever again...)
No lozenge, no rib tapes, no complicated masking, no Windsock Datafiles involved, just a nice, simple build.
It occurred to me I don't have Richthofens 425 in its last iteration on the shelf.

Well, I do but it's the Aurora I built when I was 14 or something.

Ha, great idea. I have 2-3 triplanes in the stash, all I need is an aftermarket sheet and I'm done. BaDaBing-BaDaBoom....

AYFKM?!?! Nobody prints an aftermarket in 1/48 of Dr1 425/17. Seriously?

I know Eduard printed and issued these markings in a couple of their Profipack additions of kit #8162. I thought I read that one set even had the tell tail squiggles on the cockpit sides.

They also appeared in this Eduard issue.

I DO have the old DML decal when they unsuccessfully tried to replicate the over-painted crosses, I'll pass on those but thanks.

So, here is the ask. I know we love triplanes and perhaps someone out there has these decals and refuses to build one more red triplane.
If you have the set I need, I would love to have them. Of course I would pay for whatever is involved.

And to avoid the rolling eyes, I won't post the build....
Thanks,
Allan Buttrick
