'Flying Bear' models
« on: December 28, 2024, 09:59:32 AM »
Hi all,
Bjorn Carlson of 'Flying bear' already has a nice section of models on his web site.
Now he's shown his latest plus plans for more models to come.

Mike

"Morane-Saulnier G/H with versions Thulin B and Pfalz E1.
There will also be an option with floats for the Thulin and Morane versions as well as several decal options, including French, Danish, British, and more.
Pictures show the first prototype build."

Hi all,
I ordered this 1/32nd scale 3D printed kit of the Swedish Thulin K (for Dutch Navy) in mid-December.
However the parcel was returned to 'Flying Bear' as the attached customs label had been damaged in transit to the UK
Bjorn Carlson was very good and arranged for a second parcel to be dispatched.
Well I'm glad to say it arrived today.

As a modeler of 'some' experience, I've built many injection molded, resin/3D printed and mixed media kits and from many different manufacturers.
Those I've found to be at the top end of quality are of course 'Wingnut Wings' and more recently 'Copper State'.

I'd like to add a third manufacturer, namely Bjorn Carlson of 'Flying Bear' in Sweden.

The kit arrived today and was extremely well packed, with polystyrene and foam padding inside a sturdy cardboard  container.
The quality of the 3D printing is exceptional with no surface imperfections or layer lines.
The detail on the parts is equally impressive.
The coloured and detailed instruction manual is as good as those from WNW or CSM.
Also included are an A4 parts call out sheet, detailed four view drawings, additional information sheets and a USB flash drive with all documentation loaded.
Two decal sheets are provided, one clear backed (base colour required) and one white backed.

Like many I suspect, I hadn't known of 'Flying Bear' until recently.
However, if this model builds as good as it looks, I'll be going back for more,

Mike

Hi all,
As a follow on, I had ordered a few different models from 'Flying Bear'.
A set of ski's to convert the WNW Albatros B.II to a ski version.
A refuel rig of Swedish design.
Due to the delay with the original model order, Bjorn kindly added an extra in the form of a work bench with tools.

All are of the same high standard of 3D prints,

Mike
