Eduard 1/48th Pfalz D.III and D.IIIa completed

Phew! Although I enjoyed this project, there were some phases colored by a bit of profanity uttered in vain. Aligning the upper wings was kind of a hassle on both because with the struts I encountered the ol' "stool with one longer leg" problem. Fiddly. Plus, I had some recalcitrant fuselage seams that kept reappearing no matter how many pounds of putty I threw at them. I didn't use all of the photoetch because I thought that it would sit too proud of the plastic. Radiator piping made from lead(Pb) wire. I did learn that Pfalz had their own approach to anchor points and turnbuckles- halfway through the rigging process- so those items wherever they appear on the models are not particularly accurate. Rigger beware. Despite my best effort with the solutions and clear coats, I did get some silvering with my 40-odd year old decals. Luckily, on the von Boenigk D.III, my attempt to switch and flip the serial numbers to read "1396" rather than "1369" worked well enough. So, without further adieu...

I used a fine brush with flat black to correct the old Aeromaster ravens using the WNW equivalents for reference and I left the photoetch ammunition feeds off because I forgot about them

I think the Eduard Pfalz is a great kit and you have done a wonderful job on these.

Do you want the bad news? IMO you needn't have worried too much about the fuselage seams..... The fuselage was made of two plywood covered half-shells, so in many photos there is a noticeable join line. Also, it's been said that the seam join was covered with a strip of fabric, so many modellers put a strip of decal tape over the join....
