1/32 Gothaforce Fokker DVII OAW 3.0 Wilhelm Leusch
« on: September 20, 2025, 09:11:42 PM »
Model on behalf and courtesy of Joan Van der Steenhoven (Joan is not on forums/FB)

Port aileron was a replacement with repair work, hence the misalignment of the crosses

If you see the model with different cowlings, that's because Joan wished to have the flexibility to switch cowlings. Although not recommended, this is technically possible by keeping one of the center section struts loose. The top wing will remain stable.

Dear Rafael, Warren, Allen

Thank you for reactions. I will definitely forward that to Joan because he deserves all the credit.
Joan is an enthusiastic WWI aviation modeler. He is just not into forums and internet. And he doesn't have a good camera.
So I help him a bit on that. He makes nice models,  such as this gorgeous WNW FE2.B Nightbomber. See just 1 picture I made
Next time I visit him I will make some more pictures and post them in a separate Complete Models thread, because it is worth sharing for inspiration
Cheers
Christian

That is a stupendous model - even more so with the removeable cowling.

Finest example of the Fokker D.VII I?ve ever seen built.  From the outstanding design, detail and printing of the kit, to your excellent assembly and paintwork. A true masterpiece.
