Aero Rarities British Scarff Ring No.2 in 1/32
« on: January 04, 2025, 02:51:46 AM »
The other day I received this: Aero Rarities? set of two 1/32 British scarff rings No.2.

Ordered via the website on December 19th and delivered December 31st. It made the trip from Orlando Florida to the Netherlands in just 13 days!

It is my first encounter with 3D printer parts and they look very delicate and unbelievably detailed. Even individual weld beads on some of the steel joints are modelled.

The package contains a raised and a stowed scarff ring and a paint guide.

On the website you can find the rigging guide:

They will be safely stored until I start working on the armament, but this will be a welcome and beautiful addition to my project.

Bravo Paul and Eric!

All of my dealings with them have been nothing but top notch. Aero-Rarities has been placed in my pantheon of hobby dealers that are among the best in product quality and customer service.

These look great! Are they designed as a drop-in replacement for WNW and/or Roden kits. Specifically asking for 1/32 scale.  Thanks.

I shall never forget my admiration for that German pilot, who single handed, fought seven of us for ten minutes. I saw him go into a fairly steep dive and so I continued to watch, and then saw the triplane hit the ground and disappear into a thousand fragments...James McCudden

Hi Kreston - we've designed these from period plans with the base ring specifically being true to scale.  The 1/32 models have indeed been measured by a couple people and are compatible.  We can also tweak our design to print to any custom size you might need.

Cheers, Paul
