WNW Roland D.VIb 1/32 for Dave
« on: October 26, 2024, 11:38:37 PM »
Wasn't sure I'd get a suitable pilot in time for the Group Build deadline, but I found a nice Model Cellar figure in the stash that will do nicely. It's meant to be MvR, but he is far from my favourite combatant so we'll just make him an anonymous LSK Flieger.

It's all been said in the build so I'll just pop it here for the sake of completion.
(Lovely kit: wish I'd bought a dozen, but still got the D.VIa to make.)

And now to pop Roland in the case - oh!. No space with the other WW1 planes.
Have to go in with the vintage cars. Hmmm. Need a new case I think!

Thanks to everybody for your nice comments during construction - and thanks for the silence during the many goofs made!
And all thanks to Dave Wilson for all his hard work maintaining this forum, his knowledgeable help, kind words and friendship.

Sandy

That turned out beautifully, Sandy. And the figure looks perfect sitting atop the cockpit - nice touch indeed.
Cheers,
Gary

It looks great with the addition of a pilot figure. I really like the figures that you can pose sitting on the plane, it's a pity Wings Cockpit figures are no longer available.

I can't think of better company for the completed model than an Alfetta 159...... ;D

Brilliant work on your Roland DVia, Sandy -

Nice figure too and I also like your car models as well!

Very nice build! Must feel very lonely next to those cars, but beautiful nonetheless.

That looks great.  I really like the wood fuselage.  The overall color scheme is fantastic.  Thanks for using our figure =)
