Hello from Nootdorp, the Netherlands
« on: January 08, 2013, 02:11:47 AM »
Hello,

Let me give you a short introduction.

I found this forum when I was preparing the build of the Fokker D.VII kit from Wingnut Wings. I have been waiting for several years for this kit.

On this website I found several useful tips for detailing this kit, including the ideas for making spark plugs for the Mercedes D.III engine, which are missing in the kit.

I have been modelling for more than 40 years, starting with the usual Airfix and Monogram kits in the 1970's. Since then I have built quite an armada of aircraft mainly from the RNLAF.

My main hobby however is railway modelling, but I like to build airplane models and RC airplanes as well. I have seen that a lot of techniques used in one hobby can be applied in another and thus I have learned a lot.

I will post some progress of my Fokker D.VII here. Especially the engine requires some extra detailling. Apart from the spark plugs themselves there are no leads between the magnetos and the spark plugs and I found that the pet cocks are missing as well.

regards,
Ivo
