something different to relax
« on: August 23, 2013, 03:57:11 AM »
here's what I thought, by ordering this model ...
nothing more wrong. while trying to stay within OOB terms, it was not easy ... and now it's so big that I do not know where to put it! :o
6131

...and I came dark, this one too ... a curse!  :(

well, first and last foray into the world of heavy artillery ... soon, back to the planes! ;)

Very beautifully done, looking through your photobucket album sure gives a good insight to the detail in this brilliant kit, you have done a superb job building and painting this gun, what is the overall length of the completed model?

I think its a 17cm Kanone 18 or a 21cm Morser18. Trumpeter 1/35. They had to disassemble this monster to transport it.

It is an excellent model. Any more info on the subject? I am completely ignorant regarding artillery, armor, ships (and not all that knowledgeable about much else :) ;).

hi all, sorry for the delay in answering...

yes, it's the 1/35 trumpeter kit about the 17cm k18 gun, and it's not an excellent kit, on my opinion. yet, it's the only chance to get the hands on a german WWII big gun!

how big? dunno, actually, I'm still far from home... more or less +30cm, and I didn't assemble the aft cart with the back wheels (on the road version)!!

intended to relax with something "simple" it turned out to be something more challenging than I expected. now I'm doing some research to give him a proper display, but with no hurry.

I'll upgrad the page, if you wish.
greetings, p. ;)

Great job on the gun, Paolo. Man that thing was huge.  I really like
the diorama you came up with. Nicely done!  But I still like your
aeroplanes better! ;) ;D

Cheers,
Ernie :)

That's some really nice work on that model, I've never been tempted by artillery...tanks yes but never big guns. Great job.
