It's nice to know about the aileron issue, Gary, I thought I was going crazy.

For progress. I finally managed to get all the small parts cleaned up and drilled for the rigging phase.

The landing gear was mounted along with the shielding for the bottom of the engine area. I would have prefered to leave the gear off until the end, but the shield locks the gear into place. I wanted to make sure the joint for the shield would be perfect, so it was needed.

Currently started priming, so won't be long before colors

The seat. Kit part has thick walls, Part PE is surprisingly too narrow. So I decided to thin the walls of the kit part from the outside.



And some more bits added to the engine - flywheel and water pump with the pipe.

Lovely Pfalz, Warren. I really like your interpretation of the stripes: looks just right.
Nice paint job.
Shows how good these Roden kits can be made to look.

You folks have been my heroes over the last 5 years or so, and your build logs, discussions and final builds have meant a lot to someone who was out of the game for well over five decades. I'll say another thing too. This is the nicest, most knowledgeable and supportive group of folks on the internet. That's unheard of since the inception of comment sections on the world wide web. A pair of first class models there Rick, especially the B17 which has a superb finish.

Where are the spare wings and rigging wires?

There's a certain boat like quality to the nacelles which makes me want to add a pair of oars (hopefully when they're on the wing the urge will disappear)
