Check out the WNW site - a new duellist set: Halb CLII and Re.8 -  super cool!

Great news for those who missed the "Harry Tate" when first released! I suspect there may be some speculators on the Net who are a little miffed ............ too bad! ;)
Kudos to Wingnut Wings, they've been very busy of late!
Cheers,
Lance

Just looked at the price, you basically get the RE.8 for $100 when you buy the Halberstadt at the regular price.  Not bad for the long missing RE.8.  Better get one quick before they are gone.

This makes perfect sense as I just purchased a Tate for a kings ransom on eBay dang it.

Great news indeed. And on the top of it they allow you to cancel earlier order on Halberstadt kit before Nov 27th if you choose to order the duellists. Certainly - a deal for me! :D
It may mean they will be starting with pre-order dispatch just after Nov 27th  ;)

BTW, do you think it is the end of Christmas surprises from WNW? ;)

Why should it be, Przemol? Or do you mean, lastChristmas surprise for 2018?

I surely meant - this year surprises!  ;)
As far as I remember, many times they would announce the extra surprises without any advance - they were just ready for buying and sending in the beginning of December. So I wondered why this year they changed the way and put the new duellists set for the pre-order, too. Well, maybe it was done just to allow those who rushed earlier for Halberstadts to change their orders. And maybe there is still something extra awaiting us... Any guesses?

Good to see WNW "Recycling" their kits, especially the RE.8.  I like the idea of the duelist though.

This duelist release, and the "Aces" boxings ought to put a little perspective on the WNW "sold out" designation. Given a little time, OOP kits have a way of coming back. I have to admit, there are times I've wished I had more than one RE-8 just to ebay one. The money they got was nothing to sneeze at. By the same token, I'm glad to see this out as many will want one who missed the earlier release. I prolly will pass as I have one original release, in the minty fresh box; not decided if the Halb. gets my blood flowing yet.

Hi guys,

It's been a while since I was on here but I have to confess to being totally perplexed by the Lancaster so much so my interest took an exceedingly, possibly over reactive in some eyes, but never the less, truly vertical nose dive.

The HP 0/400 is not my cup of tea but this news however has brought a huge smile to my face and deposited me firmly back on a level if not rapidly climbing track. I was in Hannants this morning and the Triplane was mentioned as being in but nothing about this - I'll be camping outside for this one for sure:)

Oh yes, I hate to crow but on this occasion I think I can allow myself a sense of self satisfaction. At last I managed to speculate reasonably close for a change https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=9651.msg176640#msg176640 (https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=9651.msg176640#msg176640) Post 23.

Next up will be the Short 184 he says - a cert believe me  ;D

Boy, am I one happy bunny.  WNW - all's forgiven :) :) :) :) :) :)

Hope you enjoy this release as much as I will

Regards - Tug

Tug,

"At last I managed to speculate reasonably close for a change"

I must say, if that prediction is just "close" I can't even imagine a direct hit! If you are planning a visit here soon I'll get you to help me buy my Lottery Ticket, I could use a sure win or two! :o :o
Cheers,
Lance

I actually am very tempted by this one. I once owned an RE8 and sold it . I like the Halbie so this combination and price is good. It all depends on finances and if anything "Better" shows up  8)

WNW has made it pretty clear now that at some point, you will see a discontinued kit a second time.

I'm done buying anything I missed on Ebay at high prices.  Be patient and it will come back.

I just wish they would give us more decal options with these duelist boxings.

Luckily, the original RE-8 decal sheet is still available directly from WNW.

I think I will buy this release and the Re-8 Decal sheet, then sell the Halberstadt half of the kit.

The Re-8 is one of the kits I missed first time around!  I think it's the coolest of all the British 2 seaters they make, with the possible exception of the Fe.2b, but that's sort of its own animal.

I hope this is not it!  Would love to see a brand new kit of a brand new plane we have not seen announced some time in December.

Ill pass
But all good .
I have a Tate already.
And the Halb will be available like the entire catalogue will always  be available to those who wait .
A hugely decent sales and customer service approach by WNW to keep their kits affordable , available and no profit for rip-off re-sellers.
I also anticipate the 0/400 will swallow (happily) my '19 model budget.

The next duellist will be the Gotha and a Biff nightfighter and will prove to be their best seller.
Both being OOP.
You saw it here first...
C'mon!!!!!!!!

You have it right as to the inevitable re-release of all of their kits and NO REASON to pay outrageous E Bay prices  ;D  As for the next Duelist, you are close. A Gotha and JTB McCuddens Pup  8) Didn't shoot any down but chased the Heck out of them!

a Pup would be a better bet for pairing with a Gotha. a Camel would be perfect, but they haven't run out of Camels. yet.

i'd like to see H.S. Kerby's Pup in this boxing. he bagged *two* G.IVs, so maybe it could then include markings for two Gothas. One Pup though.

Although "III" is the covergirl of the oop Windsock datafile 27 on the Halberstadt Cl. II, I'll go with the standard packings as there are more and more colorful marking options. On the other hand -- I only have one Re8 and preordered just two Halberstadt  :D

for me i'll get at least one of these. when WNW announced the CL.II i wanted to do a Late as Huffzky/Ehmann's ship. and of the zero Re.8s i have, i want the first one to be Pithey/Rhodes' ship.

i do find the duel depicted in this boxing quite compelling though. so maybe two.

Don't forget that Brian Fawcett does the corrected rear cockpit opening and the alternative large tail fin

All that's left of Brian Fawcett resin parts on the Pheon site is the Tail fin for the RE.8.  Inventory showed 15 left.  His fuselage for the Roden Sopwith Triplane was a gem.

Anyone think we will get another, "Christmas Surprise" of something totally new between now and when WNW goes on their holiday vacation?

They've done it before, but I'm not feeling it this time around.

A DVII Trilogy seems a natural, and possibly a Sopwith Black Flight trilogy, but short of a Fokker Tripe, and two Se5as(Voss Trilogy) I don't see much new. That of course presumes a Fokker Tripe.
Perhaps a "lineage " set? Pup, Tripe, Camel, Snipe, Dolphin?

The secret project is now revealed. It is going to be a Norman Thompson N.T.3 "Bognor Bloater" biplane.

a new type of set would be an interesting prospect. i don't expect a D.VII Trilogy til the D.VIIs sell out, but a 56 Squadron trilogy would be spectacular. i've got the Encore McCudden and Voss boxings i think i'd put 'em all in the 'air' and paint clouds on the ceiling!

i'd love a Black Flight trilogy... though. it would also explain the curious decision to box Collishaw with N533 instead of N5490 or N5492. no one liked N533 because the weight of the additional machine gun made it handle like a brick...
