This might be my quickest build yet. Very basic resin kit requiring a lot of work, yet somehow it ended up taking only a month (Okay. For me, that's a quick build.)
The Pfalz Dr.I is one of the old Copper State resin kits that Edgar is considering for reissuing in limited run plastic. I hope it makes the cut, because it's a lovely little kite.
I used Drooling Bulldog Pfalz Silbergrau and I love the way it turned out. In the future, I'll be using DB paints whenever I can.

Looking forward to getting my hands on that Nieuport 17. I'll start that one as soon as it's available.

Fantastic Bud,
Thanks for adding this one to the completed gallery. I have that kit, along with the
Tom’s Modelworks Pfalz D.VIII, waiting in my stash. I can only hope to build such a
great rendition of the kit. Thanks again, Kevin

Beautiful finish Bud, the DB Paint really stands out and the Prop as well. Not a common type but a mean looking machine that really catches your eye, great model!
Cheers,

A Gorgeous Pfalz Amigo! Outstanding finish and detailing as always!

Congrats Bud, another one of your stunners. Maybe CSM will upscale it to 32nd one day (wishful thinking after looking at your masterpiece).
-
That is a finish to die for Bud. Come to that the rest fo the build is not half bad either...!!! It may have been a quick build, but it is certainly well up to your very high standard.
Stephen.

Turned out very nice indeed! Love the lines of the Pfalz aircrafts, really hoping CSM will release this one.

A great little model, shows really the powerful rotary on a small aircraft!
The Pfalz Dr.I is one of the old Copper State resin kits that Edgar is considering for reissuing in limited run plastic.
Edgar, if you read this - this is my order of the first reissued kit you send out ;)
This type is needed in every collection of Triplanes!

Frank

Beautiful, Bud. Lovely model. I would like to see it reissued and UPSCALED to 1/32 :-)

NAILED IT. again.

Very nice, I hadn't realized Pfalz went along in triplane-mania, too! Looks very pretty in Silbergrau :)
-
Thank you, my friends! I truly appreciate such kind words. I had a wonderful time building this little beasty. There's something compelling about these old resin kits. Maybe it's just that I have so many of them, I've got to get them built so I have room for the new stuff.
Cheers,
Bud

Such a good looking model. With the colour it looks really clean and looks all of a piece.
Bye,

Thank you, Manny! As with all Pfalz, it is an attractive aircraft.

:)Congratulations, I built this model many years ago, and I'm still a fan CSM.
-
Lovely work! :)
Surely this was the best looking triplane? (Though my personal favourite is the Sopwith)
If I had to choose, I think I'd prefer the D.VIII in 1:32, having a little more variety of schemes, but this one would be quite popular - weren't Aviattic hinting at doing it next after the Balilla? I could have sworn they showed off a 'prototype' a while back, or maybe I was imagining it.
Hopefully your very nice build will encourage CSM to update the kit.

Many thanks, gentlemen! I think damned near every German and Austro-Hungarian aircraft manufacturer got caught up in the triplane craze.
Yes, Mark, I would love to see someone, anyone, do a D.VIII. Lone Star has been promising one for quite a while now. And a Dr.I from Aviattic would be a real treat. We can only hoped.
Cheers,
Bud
