Hello,
I'm looking for drawings of a German Drachen (aka sausage) observation balloon. I intend to 3D model it and make the 3D print files open-source and free to whoever wants them. I'd also like to look into 3D printing one in either 1/72 or 1/144 and using the result as a mold for vacuum-forming one. Tired of waiting for someone else to make the kit. I'd really like to see a Drachen on the shelf next to all my WWI stuff.
Thanks!
Bill

If anyone wants to purchase a mint resin 1:72 scale kit of a Drachen at reasonable price, please contact me at the usual Albatros email address.

Sorry Bill, I just noticed your post today. I have attached a drawing I used although I had to compress it so it could be sent.

Just now saw this post Bill. Is this still a project you're working on?

Hi Guys,
I got derailed for a few years but I'm back at the Drachen project. The attached drawing is too small to be of use. Any way to get a full size copy?
Thanks!

I have no information to contribute I'm afraid, but I have a question. If you build a 3D model of it, could I print it in 1/48? I know that would be huge, but hey, think BIG!
Regards,
Phil

I can help with that - I'm currently prepping my 1/72 version for 1/48 (resin) printing. https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=11808.0

MoFo,
I would be interested in a 1/48th scale version. Do you have an estimate of how much you would sell these for?

PM sent, so I don't hijack the thread further. :)
