After a battle with a couple of broken struts I've successfully completed this one. This is my second WNW Camel Build and it's a great Kit. Any difficulties encountered were 100% of my own doing! The Build Log for this project is located on the Forum here:

Here's a selection of photos of the completed model ..... (I apologize for the less then optimum photos, the light here has been really poor for several days.....)

This is my second Camel completed; I think I'll take a break with a different subject before tackling numbers 3, 4, and 5 hidden in the Stash!

Your usual outstanding work Lance, even with the setback(s). Really enjoyed your log. Looking forward to your next subject.

Well done Camel!
-
Juan, Steve, thank you both! I'm going to do a massive clean up and reorganization of my work bench area while I think about what's next in the assembly line! :-\
Cheers,
Lance

Spectacular result, Lance! Love the 10 Naval schemes and you've done a masterful job with this one. Truly brilliant!
Cheers,
Bud

Lovely Lance,
Love the chequered wheel covers!
Guy

Thank you both for the positive comments, much appreciated and great for the confidence! The 10 Naval striped schemes are a big favorite of mine and certainly reduce the "drab" effect of that good old PC.10!
Cheers,
Lance

Super Camel. If the other three are nearly as good as this you will have a very fine collection in your display case.
Stephen.

A great finish on a classic paint scheme!!Thanks for letting us follow along

Stephen, Steve,
Many thanks, great to have you look in and to receive your comments.

Really a beautiful one, and with a great livery.

Lovely job Lance,
Have you decided on the colours for your other Camel builds?
You are going to have a great display of WW1 aircraft.
Best wishes,
Dave :)
-
Thanks for your comments Giuseppe and Dave.
Dave, like these first two the other "Land" Camels will be Canadian subjects as well; I want to do another Clerget version as Barker's B6313 and a Bentley in Roy Brown's colors, B7270 on 21 April 1918 when he was involved in the Red Baron's last combat. Then there's a Ship's Camel and I'd like to do a "Comic"..........So much to do, so little time!
Cheers,
Lance

Beautiful Bird. Very good in every aspect. The preshading of the wings is looking really good.

Thank you Manni, always nice to hear from you, and I value your comments very much! :)

Great looking model and the weathering is extraordinary!

Thank you Ken, glad you like it!

It is a very fine Camel. Finely weathered, too. Congratulations, Lance!

Thanks Prze!

Always a pleasure viewing your builds, Lance. Lovely Camel ;)
What next?

Thanks von B; "next" was cleaning up the debris and confusion on my work desk until early yesterday! I've been looking over the LVG from the more recent Duelist Release since then along with the References I have; I'm thinking seriously of starting that one as I like to have something on the go at all times.

Another Hall of Fame entry, Lance...beautiful work...cannot help but scroll and gawk....you've fastly become our resident Camel Meister...which, for me, is the best of all worlds. -M
-
Many thanks for the kind comments Doug. Wish your assignment of the term "Camel Meister" were true, maybe I'd stop breaking struts off of them! ::) :o
Cheers,
Lance

Nicely done !!! Weathering just right !!!

Thanks for looking Ed, and for the comments. As a general observation I judge the Royal Navy aircraft generally cleaner then the RFC/RAF aircraft in the bulk of photos available, so I try to follow that premise in my modelling. Strangely enough in 30+ years of flying in the RCAF I always admired the "clean" presentation of US Navy Fighters compared to ours as well ......... maybe something to do with the salt air?? ;)

Will that be a partial cutaway version by any chance Lance?
Stephen.
-
Not this one Stephen, however I'm dwelling on the idea. I'm thinking one of the other larger two seaters I have might fit that approach. I have the Rumpler, Hannover, or DFW to choose from and the Halberstadt is in development ....... no lack of nice subjects!

Hi Lance,
That's a really nice Camel. I especially like the weathering. Nice job

Thank you Paul, I very much appreciate your comments! :)

spectacular build, nice recovery on the strut issue.
weathering is particularly spot on. right kind, not too much, not too little.

Thanks for looking in Jeff and for your nice comment! :)

Sorry for the late reply Lance! Your Camel build was informative and a pleasure to watch unfold! The results from construction to rigging as always are stunning!

Thank you Rick, your comments are always most welcome and appreciated.

She looks very good Lance, great choice of colour scheme. Very nicely done indeed, the only criticism I can level is of the camerawork.... ;) :)
-
Thanks Nigel, yes, the camera work! I'm afraid my brother, a professional Photographer, got all the "family smarts" in the photo department! He's long ago given up on improving my interest in photography and I admit to being challenged in that skill. I believe my greatest limitation is in the lighting department and intend to try a little experimentation in future. :(
Cheers,
Lance
